Your horse\u2019s beautiful coat is\nmore than a bragging right. The quality of your horse\u2019s hair coat reveals a lot\nabout the overall state of your horse\u2019s health. The horse\u2019s hair coat, mane, tail and skin are all made of dermal tissue.\nDermal tissue is the largest organ of the equine body. The hair coat and skin\nperform functions that contribute to the overall wellbeing and performance of\nyour horse. A healthy hair coat and skin: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Helps protect from insects and micro-organisms <\/li><li>Insulates the body in colder weather<\/li><li>Produces natural oils to reflect sunlight and\nrepel water<\/li><li>Cools the horse in warmer weather through sweat\nproduction<\/li><li>Provides natural beauty<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factors that Affect Equine Skin and Coat Quality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development and management of a healthy hair coat does not happen overnight. There are several factors that can affect quality.
